Report by Dave Coleman

Terrible first half by us and lucky to be only 2-0 down at the break. We started with James getting the full back amost immediately booked l thought that was the sign for us to pressure him. But he was the player that sparked most of Arsenals attacks. He crossed the ball for the first goal when he was inexplicably allowed to walk into our area unmarked. From then on Arsenal were visibly on top and we looked like conceding goals most times they went forward. Our front 4 were almost totally out of the game Rashford and Lingard did nothing and l thought James should have been used more with the space left by their full back, Martial was the best of the bad bunch but didnt do much. Unfortunately after a few lucky escapes we conceded a second from a corner just before half time. Then of course the second half was played to our achilles heel a packed defence that we cant break down. We had all the ball apart from 4 or 5 breakaways that Arsenal wasted or we defended well. We played ok up to the 18 yard box but we are then not able to find the right pass or cross to create anything. Yet again its a step back after a couple of steps forward but as has already been said we will have to be patient for the time being. At least this time the defeat didnt cost us too much as far as position in the table is concerned. Next match is away to Wolves in the FA Cup on Saturday. Come on United! 🇾🇪
