Report by Dave Coleman

When we scored our 3rd goal against Brighton l said “thats United football”. Well today l think we had a United football match. Wonder goals great football occasional defensive mistakes could have got double figures and not worried about whether we would score more than them. Confidence is quite clearly oozing out of our players they all want the ball they all want to score they all want to take free kicks. This is the way we want our team to play football we want exciting games. We had all the ball in the early stages and it looked like it would be a complete domination of Bournemouth. Fair play to them when they got the chance to attack they did and l suppose Maguire and De Gea could have done better but if one of ours had scored that goal we would have said he kidded the defender and goalkeeper brilliantly as they went 0-1 up. As opposed to fairly recently l wasnt worried because l have belief in our team again. We dominated the ball again but were struggling to find a way through when Greenwood took it on himself to blast the ball past the goalkeeper for the equaliser. 5 minutes later we were awarded a penalty for handball rightly with todays rules and Rashford coolly slotted it home past what on the day was a goalkeeper who wasnt beaten easily. Before half time Martial scored an absolute worldy from the left edge of the box. Half time and comfortably 3-1 up the match looked all over. The second half began with our players heads still in the dressing rooms as Bournemouth first hit the post then scored a penalty given away by some slack play by us at the back. They also had a goal rightly disallowed for offside. So it was game on again but within 5 minutes Greenwood again took it on himself and scored another beauty. So 4-2 up and again we could relax a little. We only took another 5 minutes to score another through a great free kick from Fernandes. From then l think it was a matter of whether Bournemouth could get another on the break or we would get more. We really could have got into double figures with a disallowed goal for minimal offside from Rashford and quite a few saves from the goalkeeper. How we all would have enjoyed to be at Old Trafford to watch this wonderful match today with the team playing football the way we want them to. MOTM for me was Greenwood for the quality of his goals and the immaculate timing of them. Next match is away to Aston Villa in the PL on Thursday night. Come on United! 🇾🇪
