Wesley "Wes" Michael Brown  (*  October 13th  1979  in  Manchester ) is a  English  Soccer player who as right  Full-back  as well as in the  Central defense  is used.

Brown showed himself to be a talented footballer early on at Burnage High School in Manchester, playing for the youth team Fletcher Moss Rangers and was part of the Manchester United Academy alongside his training at the academy  FA School of Excellence  in  Lilleshall .  At the age of 17, he signed on Jan.  November 1996 with the "Red Devils" his first professional contract. Both in the reserve and in the youth team, Brown continued his promotion and he won as only the second player to  Ryan Giggs  twice the club's internal election for the best young talent of the year.

At 4.  He made his debut as a substitute in the May 1998  premier

League  against  Leeds United . He was regularly used in the subsequent 1998/99 season, although he more often held the right full-back instead of his traditional center-back position. In the first year as a full member of the team, he won that with "United"  Triple  the end  Champions League ,  English championship  and  FA Cup  - He was able to participate in the finals despite previous missions against the  FC Bayern Munich , the  FC Barcelona  as well as the  Chelsea FC  in both cases, however, not yet granted. After a series of injuries that left him sidelined for the entire 1999/2000 season, he successfully returned to the team that brought in another Premier League title in 2001 - coach  Alex Ferguson  subsequently ennobled Brown as the most talented defender in the ranks of his club.

After an untitled 2001/02 season, he managed to win his third league title in 2003, but he “paid” for it on the last day of the match with a severe knee ligament injury. As a result, he missed the first half of the 2003/04 game, but then went back to his old form and won the FA Cup for the second time in his career. Previously, he had in the semifinals against the  Arsenal FC  so convinced that he was named best player ("Man of the Match").

At the side of  Rio Ferdinand  Brown worked in the 2005/06 season increasingly the regular place in central defense, which him the Serbian international  Nemanja Vidić  after his arrival in the following year again increasingly argued. Brown came into play sporadically and in 2007 won his fourth English championship. On 23.  March 2008 he succeeded in a 3-0 win against the  Liverpool FC  his first goal after almost three years without a hit and after he had refused a contract extension in December 2007, [5]  He signed a new five-year contract in April 2008 and was in the company of Rio Ferdinand and the defensive midfielder  Michael Carrick .  In addition to the fifth championship title in 2008 was the  Champions League trophy  the greatest success in Brown's career and after the first missed opportunity nine years earlier, he now completed almost 120 minutes in the final against Chelsea - shortly before the ultimately victorious penalty shootout, he became the better shooter  Anderson  exchanged.

Despite this accumulation of titles, the bad luck with injuries remained a constant companion of his career in the period that followed. With  Rafael  and  Gary Neville  He initially competed for the right full-back position until he suffered an ankle injury in the game against  Everton FC  on the 25th.  October 2008 only made three appearances in the second half of the season.
