Said and done. Even my nickname as a kid is derived from Manchester United. My favorite player then (and of course still today) was Ryan Giggs. With my head held high and my chest stretched out, I announced this to the family and my siblings took this opportunity and called me "Giggi" from that moment on. Yes, that's what they still call me today.

I found out more and more about the great club and so I felt the need to fly to Manchester one day to see a play in the Theater of Dreams. I fulfilled this dream 3 years ago in May and it was exactly as I had imagined: unbelievable! I can't put into words how overwhelmed I was. The whole football culture swept me away like a wave. In the course of my being a fan, I heard about the airplane tragedy in Munich and I realized that I had to read into the history of the club. In this regard, when I was last in Manchester last year, I got to know Paul and Steven Murphy, the grandchildren of the legendary Jimmy Murphy. It was just amazing! That was one of my greatest and most emotional moments as a fan. Martin made it all possible and I thank him from the bottom of my heart! In February of this year I was with Martin and Christine at the commemoration in Munich and was overwhelmed by the solidarity of the people.

There are so many things that characterize Manchester United: from the irrepressible will to win a game to the fact that we are one big family. I am proud to be a part of it and I am glad to have made true friends through this association!
